Cognitive-behavioral therapy

Cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) is a short-term, research-backed treatment that helps alleviate symptoms of depression and anxiety. In CBT, we will first practice identifying your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors, and then work together to challenge some of the thinking habits that have gotten you stuck.

Mindfulness-based cognitive therapy

Dr. Tabak offers mindfulness-based cognitive therapy (MBCT) in a small group format. MBCT is an effective treatment for reducing relapse in depression and new research shows that it may help lower the risk of postpartum depression in pregnant women. Email Dr. Tabak for more information.

Cognitive Processing Therapy

People react to traumatic events in a number of ways. For some, exposure to trauma leads to the development of post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT) is a short-term (12 session) treatment for PTSD that has over 25 years of research proving its efficacy. Dr. Tabak is a registered provider of CPT.
